Balancer IP based access control

ACL Management (Balancer->ACL Management) is the main mechanism used to facilitate access control on Snapt Group, Front end and Back end Entries. Amongst a number of different ACL directives, Users commonly make use of the following access based on IP address, based on IP address range or based on URL

Click on Add ACL and add a name you can use to select with in the different Snapt Groups, Assuming you want to block a single IP from accessing the group – let us call it bad_ip 

  1. In order to check what IP Address is used
    • Match Criterion: src
    • Match Operator: Plain
  • e.g. Value(ip_address): 10.10.10.0 

2.Create an IP Address List simply add the IP Addresses in separated with a single space

3. In order to check what URL is used follow step 2 with these details

  • Match Criterion: url_beg
  • Match operator: Plain
  • e.g. Value (string): foo/bar 

4.In order to check what URL is used follow step 2 with these details

  • Match Criterion: url_beg
  • Match operator: Plain
  • e.g. Value (string): foo/bar 


5.You should be able to see your newly created ACL’s under the Current ACL’s Menu tab 

 

6.Now that you have your ACL’s setup you may navigate to the group,the Front-end or the Back-end entry that will make use of it.

In the example below all 3 have been applied to the group.
